ABOUT COMPANY SECRETARY COURSE
Career as Company Secretary is not only prestigious and financially rewarding but also carries with it a high level of job satisfaction. The post of a Company secretary is considered a respectable one in the hierarchy and this is one of the most important posts a person handles. This is because, in the position, one acts as the mediator between the company and its Board of Directors, Government, Shareholders and regulatory authorities. The job of a company secretary is to ensure that the Board procedures are strictly followed and regularly revised. Company Secretary is the conscience seeker of a company. He or She guides the Chairman and the Directors on how to make the best use their responsibilities under various laws.
For Registration and Eligibility for CS Course
The student who would like to join the course after 10+2 has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e.,
- Foundation Programme
- Executive Programme
- Professional Programme
In addition, the student has to undergo Practical Training for about 15 months which a student may opt to start after passing the Executive Programme.

All India Basis Multiple Choice Based Question Paper (MCQ) from December 2012 onwards.
One marks for each correct answer. 50% Qualifying marks for clearing the paper. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
The student who would like to join the Course after passing the Graduation has to undergo two stages of the Company Secretary Ship i.e

Rs.250/- by Post or Courier
Cost of Prospectus for Executive Programme : Rs.300/- by cash payment while
Rs.350/- by Post and Courier
Payment Option: The payment can be sent to the Headquarters by Demand Draft Drawn in Favour of ‘The Institute of Company Secretaries of India’payable at New Delhi OR by cash across the counter from the Headquarters, Regional Offices & a few of the chapters.

Cut off dates for Admission to CS course:

The fee for CS Foundation Programme is Rs.3,600/-
For Executive Programme Rs.7,000/- for Commerce Graduates while
Rs.7,750/- for Non Commerce Students
ICSI provides a comprehensive study package.
The qualifying marks
The qualifying mark is at least 40% in each subject and 50%in aggregate of all subjects.
Examinations are held twice a year in June & December
After Qualifying Professional Examination
After qualifying Professional Examination and on successful completion of training a candidate is admitted as an Associate Member of the ICSIand can use the letters ACS after his/her name i.e. Associate Company Secretary.
